Castro, Brazil. The primary goal was to create a high-impact absorption floor that could withstand the intense South American sun without losing its color. We supplied our premium
Colored EPDM granules for this site, creating a multi-color design that is both safe for children and visually engaging. By using a specific
13mm thickness (combination of SBR buffer and EPDM top layer), the surface provides consistent cushioning that meets international safety standards for fall protection.
One of the biggest challenges with outdoor playgrounds in Brazil is the rapid fading caused by high UV levels. To solve this, we used EPDM granules with high-grade pigments that are specially formulated for UV stability.
We also recommended a high-purity
PU binder to ensure the granules stay locked in place, preventing the surface from hardening or cracking over time. This pour-in-place system is completely seamless, which makes it much easier for the local maintenance team to clean compared to sand or wood chips. The final result is a non-toxic, slip-resistant play area that stays bright and safe for years, even under the toughest weather conditions.
