Mexico Stadium Project: Professional Sandwich System Running Track

Case Details

This is a professional stadium track project we completed in Lagos de Moreno, Mexico. The client was looking for a competition-grade surface that could handle the high-intensity use of a municipal sports complex. We supplied and installed a 13mm Sandwich System Running Track, covering over 7,000 square meters. By choosing this system over a basic spray-coat, the stadium now features a surface with a tensile strength exceeding 0.5 MPa and a shock absorption rate of 40%, meeting international athletic standards while staying within the project budget.

The local climate in this part of Mexico has significant temperature swings, which can be a nightmare for lower-quality track materials. To ensure long-term durability, we used a high-purity PU binder mixed with SBR granules for the base, but the real "secret sauce" is the polyurethane seal coat. This non-porous layer completely prevents rainwater from seeping into the base, which is how we avoid the bubbling and peeling issues common in cheaper tracks. For the top layer, we broadcast 1-3mm Red EPDM granules into the wet PU, ensuring the friction remains consistent even during the rainy season. It’s been a few years since the installation, and the colors stay as vibrant as day one—no fading, no cracking, just a solid, high-performance field for the community.
